IIT Jammu inaugurates foundation program for new batch | KNO

Jammu, Aug 02 (KNO): A new chapter unfolded at IIT Jammu as the institute rolled out the welcome mat for its incoming undergraduate batch. The foundation program, a unique blend of academics, physical fitness, and mental well-being, set the tone for an exciting and fulfilling journey ahead for these young minds. From the serene ambiance of yoga sessions under the open sky to the energetic beats of Zumba, students experienced a refreshing start to their IIT life. Trekking through the picturesque campus, engaging in thought-provoking art lectures, and finding inner peace through meditation – the program offered a diverse palette of experiences. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Director IIT Jammu, Prof. Manoj Singh Gaur and Director of DRDL G.A. Srinivasa Murthy, were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Professor Gaur said, “We are thrilled to welcome the new batch of talented students to the IIT Jammu family. This foundation program is designed to equip them with the necessary skills and mindset to excel not only academically but also personally.” The inauguration of the foundation program is a moment of pride for the entire Jammu region. It signifies the growing stature of the institute and its contribution to the development of the state, he said, adding that as these young minds embark on their academic journey, they carry the hopes and aspirations of the people of Jammu with them—(KNO)
