Jammu Marathon 2025: Preparatory meeting held, J&K Police finalise arrangements | KNO

Jammu, Dec 12 (KNO): The Jammu & Kashmir Police have intensified preparations for the “Jammu Marathon 2025,” scheduled to be held on December 28 at Gulshan Ground, Jammu, under its Civic Action Programme (CAP). In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a police spokesman said, “A key preparatory meeting in this regard was convened today at APHQ Jammu, chaired by Anand Jain, ADG Armed J&K, who also heads the Organising Committee.” “During the meeting, ADG Jain reviewed the status of arrangements and issued detailed instructions to ensure the marathon is organised in an efficient, secure, and smooth manner. Officers were directed to streamline logistics, strengthen coordination mechanisms, and ensure maximum participation from the public, especially youth,” the statement said, adding, “At the outset, DySP Kuldeep Handoo, Sports Officer APHQ, delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation, outlining the preparedness plan, logistical framework, and the proposed activity schedule for race day.” “The Jammu Marathon 2025 will be open to a broad range of participants, including students from educational institutions across the region. The event includes multiple categories aimed at encouraging participation from diverse age groups and sections of society,” he added. The spokesman said, “A prize distribution ceremony will be held at Gulshan Ground after the marathon concludes. It will be followed by a raffle draw of chest numbers, with cycles to be awarded to the first, second, and third place winners. To facilitate smooth registration, the Police has set up eight registration counters—six in Jammu and two in Srinagar.” The meeting was attended by senior police officers including Vinod Kumar, DIG IR Jammu; Sameer Sharma, DIG AP Jammu; Hareesh H. P., IPS, AIG Welfare PHQ J&K; Zahid Naseem Manhas, IPS, Commandant SDRF 2nd Bn; Dalip Kumar, SSP, Staff Officer to ADGP Armed J&K; Rajinder Singh, SSP APCR Jammu; Commandants of Jammu-based Battalions; Dr. Rewa Gaind, I/C Medical Superintendent, Police Hospital Jammu; and other officers. The J&K Police aims to make the Jammu Marathon 2025 a major community engagement event promoting fitness, discipline, and youth participation across the Union Territory—(KNO)
