Srinagar, Dec 14 (KNO): A delegation of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Engineering Graduates Association (J&KCEGA), led by its President Nasir Amin, called on the Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the meeting was also attended by MLAs Dr. Sajad Shafi, Dr. Shafi, and Hilal Akbar Lone, who extended their support to the engineers' demands. During the meeting, the President of J&KCEGA presented several pressing issues faced by civil engineers in the region. Key among them was the long-pending demand for Assured Career Progression (ACP), which, despite being approved by the Cabinet in 2017, has not been implemented due to the absence of an SRO. Other concerns include delay in salaries of engineers under the National Pension Scheme (NPS) post-reorganization and filling of vacant posts in engineering departments. The Deputy Chief Minister gave a patient hearing and assured the delegation of all possible support in addressing these issues. He urged engineers to continue working diligently to enhance public welfare and development. The President congratulated the Deputy Chief Minister on assuming office and expressed gratitude for his positive response. The association looks forward to swift action on the highlighted concerns to strengthen the engineering fraternity and its contribution to the progress of Jammu and Kashmir—(KNO)
