Srinagar, Oct 16 (KNO): The Bakshi Stadium was filled to the brim as more than 27,000 fans flocked to witness the final of the Legends League Cricket (LLC) on Wednesday. An on-screen assessment showed that 27,331 spectators were inside the stadium, with hundreds more left outside as the venue reached full capacity. According to the details obtained by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the on-screen assessment showed that 27,331 spectators were inside the stadium, while many of fans were reportedly not allowed entry despite having tickets, leading to frustration and chaos at the gates. “Even though I had a valid ticket, I wasn’t let in,” said Imran, a local fan. “We were excited to see the legends play after so many years, but many of us have turned away,” he added. Likewise, the situation became increasingly difficult to control as the crowd surged, leading to security personnel opening several gates to prevent further disorder. Despite efforts to manage the situation, many ticket holders were still unable to watch the match. Moreover, as a memorable moment during the game, a young fan managed to invade the pitch, rushing towards the famous umpire “Billy Bowden”. The fan was later escorted off the field, but the incident left an impression on the crowd, with Bowden, known for his quirky style, acknowledging the excitement of the fans. As mentioned earlier, after a week of electrifying cricket action, Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar will once again fall quiet as the much-anticipated Legends League Cricket draws to its final stage—(KNO)
