Shopian, Nov 08 (KNO): A youth from South Kashmir's Shopian district is creating ripples with his rap songs which he writes and composes himself.
Noor Ul Hassan Bhat, a resident of Chitragam Kalan area of South Kashmir's Shopian who has pursued masters in Business Administration outside J&K is now spending most of his time with raps.
Bhat, locally known by the nickname Remo Bhat while talking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that while singing rap songs in 2012, he developed interest in them and started writing rap songs himself.
Bhat said that he has performed his rap songs at college outside J&K several times but singing a rap in Kashmir is still a new thing, “however with each passing day it is getting popular”.
“I have so far written dozens of rap songs and the main message in my rap songs remains that one should be self dependent and shouldn't rely on any other person,” he said.
Bhat said that initially there was no support from his relatives but once they heard his songs, they started supporting him.
“However, I haven’t got any support from the administration so that I could have reached mega stages,” he said.
“There are hundreds of youth in J&K who are interested in rap songs but are shy about what people will say about them. My message to the youth will be to follow your passion and achieve your goal,” Bhat said—(KNO)
