Srinagar, Jun 02 (KNO): On the solemn occasion of the death anniversary of Hazrat Amir Kabir Mir Syed Ali Hamadani (RA), the Mirwaiz of Kashmir, Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, paid heartfelt tribute to the revered saint, calling him a towering figure in the spiritual, religious, and socio-economic transformation of Kashmir. In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Mirwaiz said that Hazrat Shah Hamadan arrived in Kashmir at a time when the region was steeped in disbelief and ignorance. While the foundation of Islam had been laid earlier by Hazrat Bulbul Shah (RA), it was through the relentless missionary efforts of Hazrat Amir Kabir and his companions that Islam took deep root and flourished across the Valley. He noted that Hazrat Shah Hamadan was not only a preacher and reformer but also a visionary who introduced crafts and industries to empower the people of Kashmir economically, promoting self-reliance and dignity through work. Describing him as a true benefactor of the Kashmiri people, Mirwaiz said that in today’s times of turmoil, the teachings of Hazrat Amir Kabir—deeply grounded in the Qur’an and the Sunnah—continue to serve as a timeless source of guidance and spiritual strength—(KNO)
