Udhampur, Apr 12 (KNO): Thousands of people from all across Udhampur-Doda and Jammu Parliamentary constituencies attended the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally here at Modi ground today. They had come from all corners of these two constituencies to listen to PM Modi who addressed his first election rally in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), thousands of people thronged to Modi stadium in Battal Ballian area in the outskirts of Udhampur on Jammu-Srinagar national highway to get a look of PM Modi and listen to his plans for J&K for the future. “People had come here from every nook and corner of these two constituencies and on every important statement of PM Modi they responded with loud cheers and slogans. Be it comments on Article 370 abrogation, targeting Congress, NC and PDP on revocation of this article or construction of Ram Mandir, people were responsive,” the eye-witnesses said. The Prime Minister reached here around 11 am and was welcomed by the people with slogans like “Abki Baar 400 Par” “Phir Ek Baar Modi Sarkar” and other slogans like Bharat Mata Ki Jai. The PM spoke for just over 38 minutes and touched every aspect including abrogation of Article 370, construction of Ram Mandir, dismantling terror network, ending separatism and stone throwing, holding Assembly elections, giving statehood back to J&K and development done in J&K. Both the BJP candidates Dr. Jitendra Singh, candidate for Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seat and Jugal Kishore Sharma, candidate for Jammu Lok Sabha seat were present on the occasion whereas BJP UT president Ravinder Raina and other party leaders also attended the rally. Since morning people had started gathering in the Modi stadium amid tight security. A three-tier security of para military forces and Police was put in place to ensure incident free events. The movement of vehicles on Jammu-Srinagar national highway from this place was halted till the rally ended—(KNO)
