Puja at Akhara temple marks preparation for final darshan of holy mace | KNO

Srinagar, Aug 07 (KNO): A special puja was conducted on Wednesday at Dashami Akhara Mandir in Lal Chowk, Srinagar, to honor the Chhari-Mubarak (holy mace), a ritual ahead of its final darshan at the holy cave. According to details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Puja took place with great fervor and traditional devotion under the guidance of Mahant (priest), Dipendr Giri at Akhara Building, Lal Chowk. Notably, the ceremony was attended by numerous devotees, who gathered to participate in the sacred rites. The holy mace, a symbol of divine presence, is set to be taken on 9 August for its final darshan at the Amarnath cave. Priest Dipendr Giri, who led Puja, told KNO that they have been following this ritual for generations. “The rituals were performed with utmost devotion, reflecting the spiritual significance of the occasion. Recalling memories, Dipendr Giri said these rituals were performed barefoot in earlier times, and they used to stop at many places during their march towards the holy cave—(KNO)
