Srinagar, Mar 18 (KNO): Research scholars at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar staged a protest on Tuesday, demanding the immediate release of their pending fellowships, which have been delayed for the past three months. The protesting scholars expressed their frustration over the financial hardships they have been facing due to the delay in receiving their stipends. They alleged that the administration has been unresponsive to their repeated pleas for a resolution. “We have been struggling for three months without our fellowships. Many of us depend on these funds to manage our expenses, including accommodation and research work,” a protesting scholar told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). Another scholar added, despite multiple representations to the administration, our concerns have not been addressed. “We are only demanding what is rightfully ours.” Pertinently, the protesters urged the NIT Srinagar authorities to take immediate action and ensure a fair and timely disbursement of fellowships—(KNO)
