Awantipora, Apr 29 (KNO): Residents of Barsoo village in Pulwama have appealed to authorities to macadamize the village road and construct a drain in their area. They said that their interior road is lying in dilapidated condition and it needs to be immediately repaired. Shakir Ahmad, a local, told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a U-shaped three kilometre road connecting the village with National Highway has been macadamised some 12 years ago. He said that since then no repairing work has been carried out and blacktopping has withered over the years. Nazir Ahmad, another resident, said that the drain running parallel to the road often remains clogged and the dirt gets filled in the drain. He said local residents are facing a lot of problems due to the bad condition of the road and drain. They said that they have brought this issue in notice of concerned authorities several times to no avail. An official told KNO that they have submitted a proposal under NABARD and are hopeful that it will be approved soon—(KNO)
