Srinagar, Jul 17 (KNO): People’s Democratic Party president, Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday said that her sister Rubaiya Sayeed did her duty as per the law to identify Yasin Malik in her abduction case. Talking to selected reporters, Mehbooba Mufti, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that Rubaiya Sayeed was called as a witness to identify someone in case and she could not have refused it. “Since it was easy to identify Yasin Malik as he has been in the public domain for a long time, so it was easy for her to identify Yasin Malik. 32 years is a long time and people tend to forget lot of things in such a long time, but it was easy to identify Yasin Malik,” she said. She said that Rubaiya could not identify the other people, as 32 years is a long time. “She only did her duty as per the law as she was asked to identify someone,” she said. She also said that BJP has failed to deliver good governance in the country and which is why, to divert attention, they indulge in creating riots and clashes in the name of religion. Mehbooba said that dialogue is the only way forward and like they militancy is sponsored by Pakistan, so to curb that dialogue has to be initiated with Pakistan. “In fact dialogue has to be initiated with all the stakeholders to resolved the Kashmir issue and to stop bloodshed here. Through violence and gun we cannot resolve anything,” she said. She also said that Kashmir issue is the biggest issue than restoration Article 370 and they (PDP) will continue its fight for the peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue. “We cannot expect anything from the Supreme Court, as it has failed to hold a single hearing of the case related to abrogation of Article 370 in the last 3 years,” she added—(KNO)
