Doda, Jun 22 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Police has said that around seven militants are active in two places in district Doda which include around four in Kota Top area of Gundoh and two to three in Chattergala area of Bhaderwah. Police have also arrested three people for providing shelter and acting as a guide to these militants in Kota Top. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda Javed Iqbal said that in connection with the contact established with the militants in Kota Top, three people Safdar, Mubashir and Sajad, all resident of Tanta Draman village of Gundoh area have been arrested for providing shelter and food to militants and also acting as guide to them. "They helped the terrorists to settle there, provided logistics support and didn't inform the police about it. We have arrested them on these charges and more arrests are expected in upcoming days," the SSP said. "We have confirmation of the presence of two groups of militants in Kota Top and Chattergala of which four are active in Kota Top and two to three militants are active in Chattergala," the SSP informed. On June 11 a joint patrol party of police and Army was fired upon by militants in Chattergala area of Bhaderwah in which five soldiers and one special police officer were injured whereas on June 12 one police constable was injured when security forces had established a contact with militants in Kota Top. The SSP said that security forces are alert to the situation and have taken necessary steps to address the matter.
