Srinagar, Feb 17(KNO): Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, said that a lack of coordination between Jammu and Kashmir administration and the ministry of Minority Affairs had affected the implementation of schemes and disbursement of funds. Speaking to media, Rijiju, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that ministry-related meetings were held, and officers from J&K’s social welfare department provided updates about ongoing schemes. “Earlier, there was not enough funding. I have seen where the problem is,” he said. Rijiju stated that projects and schemes must be uploaded on the portal before they can be considered for funding. He said that the ministry aimed to provide support in the health, education, and sports sectors, as well as in local handicrafts and handloom. He also mentioned that a project has been proposed to address drinking water issues in certain areas. “We also provide facilities for training,” he said, adding that two key schemes—Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) and PM Vikas—play a central role in infrastructure development and skill training. “In PMJVK, we sanction a lot of infrastructure, and in PM Vikas, we focus more on training and skilling,” he said. Rijiju further stated that schemes for 18 districts were ready and would be prioritised. “There is a committee headed by the chief secretary. He will clarify the project and then talk to us,” he said—(KNO)
