The eyewitness told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) with a large number of mourners present, the Zuljanah procession was carried out in which thousands of people participated and paid homage to the martyrs of Karbala. “I have been participating in this procession for many years. It is our way of connecting ourselves to the great sacrifice that Imam Hussain made,” said Ali Abbas, a local. He added every step in the procession reminds about the bravery and strength of Imam Hussain and his companions. Kifayat Ali, another local said, Arbaeen is a day when individuals should remember the values upheld by Imam Hussain. “It is one of sorrow, but also a time for reflection on how we can live by those values,” he said.
