Srinagar, Jan 22 (KNO): To ease off the process of blood donation, two techies from Srinagar have developed an app “Rakht Daan” ensure the accessibility of blood for the needful. Usman Tareen and Naveed Showkat Malik from Srinagar through this app connects donors with individuals in need. “The inaccessibility of blood in Kashmir and the lack of a coordinated blood donation program led to the development of this app. People frequently use social media to request blood and make donations, which is not streamlined. So, we developed this App to make blood donation and its accessibility simpler,” Usman, one of the developers told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). He said the app features an easy-to-use registration feature that allows users to quickly register as donors by providing the location and blood type. “The app finds nearby eligible donors instantaneously, doing away with the need for laborious traditional approaches. Users may obtain real-time information on blood supply across many blood banks in Jammu & Kashmir using the app,” Usman said. Naveed, another developer of the app said that the app offers a more straightforward registration process for blood donors. "A person can register as a blood donor and provide his location through a fairly easy process. When a recipient in the same vicinity needs blood, his or her name will appear. The beneficiary won't require permission, but we will get in contact with the giver to authorize his registration," he stated. The app's developers reported that after a month, they are receiving positive feedback from users. “Rakth Daan is run non-profitably by our company, WebSolved, with a focus on social cause rather than financial gain. We want more people to sign up for this app so that everyone who requires blood is saved,” Naveed said. The developers are now planning to make Rakth Daan available throughout India. “We're dedicated to transforming society for the better by applying our knowledge in digital technology. We want to empower communities to save lives together by developing a strong network of blood donors through Rakth Daan,” Usman said—(KNO)
