Thousands throng Pakherpora shrine for annual Poshak Bandhi ceremony | KNO

Budgam, Aug 17 (KNO): Thousands of devotees from across the Kashmir Valley gathered at the revered shrine of Hazrat Sultan Syed Mohammad Ali Aali (RA) in the Pakherpora area of Budgam district, on Saturday to participate in the annual Poshak Bandhi ceremony. The Poshak Bandhi, a traditional event marking the ceremonial dressing of the saint’s shrine, is a significant day in the religious calendar for the people of this region. The ceremony, deeply rooted in the spiritual traditions of Kashmir, drew worshippers from all corners of the valley. Ghulam Nabi, a local resident, informed the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) about the significance of the event. “This shrine holds a special place in our hearts. The Poshak Bandhi is not just a ceremony but a reminder of the saint’s teachings and the spiritual heritage of our region,” he said. Zahida, another attendee, said she never misses the annual gathering. “Every year, I make it a point to attend this ceremony. It gives me peace and strengthens my faith,” she said.
