Thwart challenges from across the border: DG BSF to troops | KNO

Jammu, Aug 09 (KNO): Director General (DG) of Border Security Force (BSF), Nitin Agrawal on Wednesday asked troops to thwart all the challenges from across the border. The DG was on three-day visit to Jammu Frontier and on the last leg of his visit, he visited border areas of Akhnoor along with P V Rama Sastry, SDG (Western Command), D K Boora, IG Jammu Frontier and other officers. As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the officers reviewed the border domination and security situation along the International Border. The BSF sector commander and Battalion commanders briefed DG on the ground and explained overall BSF deployment and domination of the area under prevailing security scenarios. He was also informed about border management aspects of BSF Battalions deployed in the area wherein the local border population is assisted in terms of regular civic action programmes and border area medical camps. DG BSF visited various Border Out Posts (BOP) and witnessed the operational preparedness of field formations. During the Jammu visit, DG BSF interacted with troops and applauded their professional acumen in safeguarding the International Border in stringent conditions relentlessly. “Carry on excellent work in effective domination of the border to thwart continuous challenges from across the border," the DG exhorted troops. Earlier on Tuesday, IG BSF Jammu Frontier, D K Boora, gave a detailed presentation to the DG covering all the critical aspects of Border Security and Domination on Jammu IB and Line of Control. Boora described the general security scenario of Area of Responsibility (AOR), covering the deployment pattern of BSF battalions and their robust domination aspects on the complete Jammu IB. The DG BSF visited Samba IB area where he was briefed and informed about recent threats being faced by the BSF in Samba area, ranging from tunnelling and cross Border smuggling by Pak based elements. A special emphasis was given to the Drone threats posed by Pakistan Drones from across the border into Indian Territory. DG BSF was also shown the all round domination strategy of BSF on IB covering depth area also.
