Gunfight breaks out in Kandi Rajouri | KNO

Jammu, May 05 (KNO): A gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in Kesari area of Kandi in Rajouri district on Friday. Official sources told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a joint team of Police, Army' and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area. He said that as the joint teams of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering an encounter. A senior police officer also confirmed the exchange of fire between forces and militants. As per sources, two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area. They said they are presumably the militants involved in ambush on army truck in Tota Gali area of Bhata Dhurian - Bhimber Ghati sector of Poonch., which claimed lives of five soldiers. This is the gunfight in J&K in the past 72 hours—(KNO)
