Srinagar, Mar 31 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Governor administration on Wednesday asked the vice-chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology-Jammu to hold the additional charge of vice-chancellor Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology-Kashmir due to the superannuation of Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad. Notably, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad, Director, Extension, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology-Kashmir (SKUAST-K), was also holding the charge of Vice-Chancellor of the University. In a letter, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), addressed to deputy registrar SKUAST-K, additional secretary Krishan Lal said that due to the superannuation of Prof. Mushtaq, VC SKUAST-Jammu, Prof. J.P. Sharma will hold the additional charge of SKAUST-K till further orders. “Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad, Director, Extension, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology-Kashmir (SKUAST-K), who is also holding the charge of Vice-Chancellor of the University is superannuating on retirement from SKUAST-Kashmir Service on 31.03.2021 (A/N),” the letter reads. It reads that a Selection Committee for drawing up a panel of names for appointment to the post of Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Kashmir has been constituted and the process would take some time to conclude. “In this context, I am desired to convey the approval of Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor (Chancellor, SKUAST-Kashmir) that Prof. J.P. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology-Jammu shall hold the additional charge of Vice-Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology-Kashmir till further orders,” reads the letter—(KNO)
