Jammu, Sep 14 (KNO): Northern Railway has announced a temporary change in the entry and exit arrangements at Jammu Tawi Railway Station from September 16 to facilitate the ongoing redevelopment work while ensuring smooth passenger movement.
Under the revised traffic arrangement, accessed by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), all passengers will enter the station through the Platform No. 1 side (Old Entry), while departures for passengers who complete their journey will be through the Second Side (Narwal Side).
The Jammu Division said the arrangement has been introduced to prioritise passenger convenience, safety and security during the station's redevelopment.
However, if a train arrives on Platform No. 1, family members or relatives who come to drop passengers will also be allowed to exit through the Platform No. 1 side.
Railway officials said the revised circulation plan is a temporary measure aimed at allowing construction work to continue without disrupting passenger movement.
Commuters have been advised to follow the directional signage installed at the station to avoid inconvenience.
Northern Railway said passengers will benefit from modern, world-class facilities once the redevelopment of Jammu Tawi Railway Station is completed and sought public cooperation in implementing the new arrangements—(KNO)
