Talking to the reporters after formally laying the foundation stone for the Nagbal Playfield development project here in North Kashmir, Dar, according to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reaffirmed the government’s commitment to nurture young talent. “Youth of this area had been seeking a sports ground for several years, and this project will cater to their aspirations,” he added. The Minister said that the government is focused on creating modern playing facilities to encourage youth participation in sports. Lauding the Sports Department and the J&K Sports Council, the minister said both have played a vital role in expanding sports infrastructure across erstwhile state. He noted that several new playfields worth lakhs of rupees have been developed. The government, he said, plans to extend similar infrastructure to major towns of Baramulla and Sopore where interest in football and cricket is growing rapidly.
