Srinagar, Mar 01 (KNO): After the Government of India, in a bid to boost tourism in the country, the government has come out with a very creative approach which might cheer travel enthusiasts as new tourist destinations are being explored on fast track basis. As per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged Indians to visit at least 15 domestic tourist destinations by 2022. On a two day official visit in the Valley, Secretary Tourism for Government of India Arvind Singh(IAS) in an exclusive interview with KNO talked about the Tourism revival in the valley, from exploring new Tourist destinations to upgradation of existing structure of Tourism valley, he also talked about the revival of Bollywood in the valley. In a specific range of questions based on Tourism with KNO, he said that the Government of India after opening the Tourism in India under Covid-19 SoPs and Guidelines encouraging reports came from different parts of the country, and reports coming from Jammu and Kashmir were positive and encouraging after Hotels got advance bookings. In a question on revival of Bollywood in the valley, he said, if Bollywood is expressing their desire to turn their celluloid cameras towards the valley it is a good sign for Tourism in the valley, citing an example of Czech Republic after the Bollywood shot some movies in there, every year thousands of Indians visit there, turning of Bollywood Cameras towards the valley will certainly be a boost, and whatever needs to be done in getting the Bollywood back in the valley, GOI will extend maximum of their support. On being asked about the publicity of Kashmir Tourism in the rest of the country he told KNO, The Ministry of Tourism is organizing a series of Webinars under the overall theme of 'Dekho Apna Desh'. "Media Campaigns which includes Print, Electronic and Social media platforms will be used to create more awareness about tourist destinations in the country", he said. On being asked about the Tourism infrastructure upgradation in the valley, he said short term and long term needs for infrastructural needs to be seen, once the UT Administration sends the proposal after which due decision can be taken. He also talked about exploring the new tourist destinations in the valley, which can attract more and more Tourism in the valley. "Dekho Apna Desh is a pledge, an ongoing tourism campaign intended to boost domestic travel in India, it’s already been a triumphant success in cultivating excitement for its many lesser-known destination treasures in the entire country", he told KNO. Earlier in the day on his arrival in the valley visited the Indian Institute of Sking & Mountaineering on the Graduation ceremony of 5th Snow Sking course—(KNO)
