Srinagar, Sep 28 (KNO): Senior Congress leader and Chairman, Media and Publicity Department, All India Congress Committee (AICC), Pawan Khera, on Monday led a protest march in Srinagar against the Chief Election Commissioner.
During his visit, Khera met senior Jammu and Kashmir Congress leaders, including the party's Chief Whip in the Legislative Assembly, Nizamuddin Bhat.
According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Bhat, who is also the MLA from Bandipora, called on Khera and briefed him on the ongoing Legislative Assembly session.
During the meeting, Bhat apprised Khera of the key deliberations held in the House, with particular emphasis on the issue of restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, which figured prominently during the session.
Khera also interacted with other party leaders and functionaries during his visit to Srinagar.
He is understood to have reviewed the party's political engagements in Jammu and Kashmir and discussed strengthening the Congress' outreach on key public and constitutional issue—(KNO)
