Srinagar, Jun 13 (KNO): A Pakistani national was apprehended near Simri village in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district after allegedly crossing the Line of Control (LoC) under suspicious circumstances, the Army said on Saturday.
In a post on X, the Chinar Corps, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said alert troops, in coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, acted swiftly to apprehend the intruder and prevent any potential security breach.
“Based on specific intelligence input, alert Chinar Warriors, in a joint operation with Jammu and Kashmir Police, apprehended a Pak national near Simri village, Kupwara, on 12 June 2026, who had crossed the Line of Control under suspicious circumstances. Acting swiftly, the vigilant joint team intercepted the individual and prevented any potential security breach,” the Army said.
The Army said the apprehended individual is currently being questioned and remains under investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding his crossing and any possible links or motives.—(KNO)
