Srinagar, Aug 22 (KNO): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday claimed to have registered a case against the former Assistant Store Keeper in Food, Civil Supplies and Public Distribution department.
As per a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), ACB said that it has registered a case under FIR number 5/2020 under section 5(1)(e) r/w 5(2) of J&K P.C. Act Svt. 2006 against the former Assistant Store Keeper in Food, Civil Supplies and Public Distribution Department.
“The instant case was registered for accumulation of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by one Mohammad Altaf Dalal, former Assistant Store Keeper in Food, Civil Supplies and Public Distribution Department,” the statement said.
During verification, ACB said it was found that the suspect during his service period has raised assets disproportionate to his known sources of income which mainly include a concrete palatial house at Deva Colony Janglat Mandi Anantnag over a land of around 1. 7 kanals; a concrete structure at Moomin Abad Anantnag, used as a godown over a land of 2 kanals 11 Marlas; three kanals of land at Moomin Abad Anantnag, over which 7000 sft plinth level construction for a proposed Hospital exists and partnership in Lal Kothi Hotel in Pahalgam over a land of 4 kanals ; and other properties.
The searches were conducted in the properties at Anantnag and Pahalgam, ACB said. “During search, incriminating material about bank accounts and business deals were seized. The accused was also found in possession of vehicles Scropio, I-20, Tata Mobile, TATA ACE carriage etc,” it added.
It further stated that the investigation has been taken up and further details of bank accounts and other assets are being established. “Investigation of case is going on,” the statement added—(KNO)
