Leh, Feb 15 (KNO): The students of Eliezer Joldan Memorial (EJM) College Leh in Union Territory of Leh Monday protested against the varsity authorities for failing to provide them degree certificates and marks sheet. The protesting students of Batch-2016 held a peaceful protest from their varsity gate escorted by Ladakh people during the march while holding the placards demanding justice. Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the protest, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the students said that the batch-2016 even after examinations held a couple of months back are yet to receive the marks sheet and degree certificates forcing them to face hardships while the further studies are also getting affected. They said that as of now six years are about to complete while the course is for three years only and the students are made to suffer for want of the important documents like degree certificate and mark sheet. "We didn't protest directly rather approached the official and the Leh council earlier as well highlighting the grievances but by far every request has fallen to deaf ears since no concrete actions were initiated," they said. They said that there is not any institution or officer whom students have not approached over the past couple of weeks but to no avail. Another protesting student said that the non-serious approach of authorities compelled all the students to hit the streets and hold a protest march to press for genuine demands for long now. He said that everyone has so far assured all possible help verbally but nothing has happened in favor of the students to give the community ease. Meanwhile, the administrative officials at the spot assured the protesting students that the grievances will be take up with the higher-ups for early redressal—(KNO)
