Girl commits suicide by jumping into Tawi river in Jammu | KNO

Jammu, May 22 (KNO): A 20-year-old girl on Saturday allegedly committed suicide by jumping into the Tawi river near Gujjar Nagar Bridge area of Jammu. Eyewitnesses told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the girl jumped into the river from the Gujjar Nagar Bridge. They said that locals tried to rescue her and shifted her to a nearby hospital. “However, critically injured girl succumbed to her injuries and was declared dead on arrival by the doctors” The girl was a resident of Qasim Nagar area of Jammu. An official said that said the police were verifying the incident as to why the girl took this extreme step. He said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation in this regard has been taken up—(KNO)
