Srinagar, Aug 13 (KNO): An Army soldier lost his life in an exchange of fire with terrorists along the Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir’s Uri sector on Wednesday. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the exchange of fire took place in Churanda village near the LoC. The fallen soldier was identified as Havildar Ankit Kumar, who was on operational duty when the incident took place. In a post on X, the Army’s Chinar Corps paid tribute to the fallen soldier, writing, “Chinar Corps honours the supreme sacrifice of Braveheart Havildar Ankit Kumar, who laid down his life while undertaking operational duty along the Line of Control in Uri, Baramulla. Chinar Warriors salute his immense valour and sacrifice, express deepest condolence and stand in solidarity with the bereaved family”—(KNO)
