Murder case solved, accused arrested: Police | KNO

Kulgam, Nov 11 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday claimed to have solved a murder case in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district and arrested the accused person involved in the act after carrying out investigation in a professional manner. Police spokesman in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that on 10-11-2020, Police Station Kulgam received information through reliable sources that a lady namely Mehmooda, wife of Muzaffer Ahmad Najar of Shurat has been assaulted at her native village and was shifted to District Hospital Kulgam for treatment. Acting promptly, police party headed by DySP Hqrs Kulgam and SHO Kulgam rushed to District Hospital Kulgam where officers were informed that she was brought dead, the statement said. “Taking cognizance of the case, a Special Investigating Team (SIT) under the supervision of SP Kulgam Gurinderpal Singh headed by DySP Hqrs Kulgam was constituted and consequently, a case with FIR number 203/2020 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation was initiated,” police said. Police said that investigating officers immediately rushed to the scene of crime and seized the weapon of offence. “After completion of all medico legal formalities, the dead body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs. Officers have also arrested the accused person involved in the crime who has been identified as Ishfaq Manzoor Bohru son of Manzoor Ahmad Bohru resident of Shurat Kulgam,” police said. “Further investigation into the matter is going on. We assure community members that police have resolved to act tough against individuals involved in criminal activities,” police said—(KNO)
