Private hospitals empanelled under AB PM-JAY roped in for Co-WIN | KNO

Jammu, Feb 27 (KNO): Choudhary Mohammed Yasin (IAS) Mission Director, National Health Mission & Chief Executive Officer, State Health Agency J&K Saturday chaired a training-cum-orientation session of administrators of all private hospitals empanelled under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana regarding COVID vaccination of Age Appropriate Groups. According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the meeting was attended by Director Health Services, Jammu, Director Health Services Kashmir, Deputy Chief Executive Officer State Health Agency, J&K, Chief Medical Officers of all districts, Officers from National Health Mission, J&K, officers from directorate of family welfare and immunization and administrators of all private hospitals empanelled under AB PM-JAY attended the meeting through Video Conference. Choudhary Mohammed Yasin (IAS) Mission Director, National Health Mission & Chief Executive Officer, State Health Agency apprised the participants about the role of private hospitals empanelled under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana as COVID Vaccination Centers. He informed the participants that the nationwide COVID-19 Vaccination drive which was launched on 16th January, 2021 is now to be exponentially expanded to the following age-groups from 1st March, 2021: i) all citizens above 60 years of age, and ii) those within the age bracket of 45 to 59 years with specified co-morbidities. He urged upon all the empanelled hospitals to come forward and play their role in eliminating the dreaded disease. State Immunization Officer, Dr Haroon explained the process of Empanelment of Private Hospitals as COVID Vaccination Centres, Process of Advance Self Registration, On-Site Registration and Facilitated Cohort Registration of potential beneficiaries. Rashmi from eVin explained to the participants about the basic features of version 2.0 of the digital platform COWin, which is population-scale software with capacity of processing several thousands of entries. Participants were further informed that all COVID Vaccination Centers (CVCs) must be health facilities as under: (i) Government health facilities such as SHCs, PHCs, CHCs, Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centres, Sub-Division Hospitals, District Hospitals and Medical College Hospitals. (ii) All Private Hospitals empanelled under Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PM JAY) and similar State Health Insurance Schemes. Chief Medical Officers were asked to ensure that the empanelled private health facilities mandatorily must have the requisite infrastructure for using them as COVID Vaccination Centers—(KNO)
