Srinagar, Feb 08 (KNO): National Conference (NC) leader and provincial vice president Kashmir Youth National Conference (YNC), Ahsan Pardesi on Monday said that the recently constituted DDC is a grim reminder to the people of Srinagar how its betterment and development has always been prime priority of NC. Pardesi in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said both chairman and vice chairman of DDC don't belong to district Srinagar and fall in Chadoora segment of Budgam. “So, practically Srinagar will be run by Budgam,” he said. Moreover, he said that Apni Party leader of Sonwar constituency and former MLA Sonwar has done great injustice with people of Sonwar constituency whose rural belt constitute 80 percent of DDC Srinagar. “He has sold the aspirations of the people living in Sonwar constituency particularly Harwan block. Elected DDC members who defected to Apni Party in Harwan block will be taken to task by people as they truly believe their votes have been openly traded and sold. They have deceived people, which will result in loss of development and upliftment of their respective areas,” he said. “Sonwar constituency in DDC council has been left high and dry with no chair and say in DDC Council. Practically Sonwar constituency will be the worst victim of DDC as far as development is concerned. Since 2015, Sonwar constituency has been completely neglected,” he said. Pardesi said DDC council Srinagar will typically now be run by amateurs with no political or administrative exposure which will be disastrous and unfortunate and serve no purpose—(KNO)
