Srinagar, Mar 22 (KNO): A two-day workshop organised by the Kashmir Press Club on 'Theatre As A Tool In Communication” concluded here on Monday.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the workshop, which was scheduled from March 21 to 22 at was moderated by senior journalist Gowhar Geelani.
Scholar of the traditional theatre Arts of Kashmir and student of NSD Junaid Rather, calibrated the participants on various formats of theatre acting and plays.
A spokesperson said that on the first day of the workshop, Adbee Markaz Kamraz president, Mohammed Amin Bhat delivered his welcome address and welcomed the initiative of KPC for organising the workshop.
Bhat who is also a well-known theatre Director and Television Anchor shared his valuable insights on theatre acts and plays during the two-day training workshop.
He said that the connectivity between theatre and journalism is interlinked as the ultimate aim is of storytelling and the only difference in theatre is that a story is being said on the experience while a journalist tells the same thing with all facts.
"We are living in a civilized society and when it comes to the institutions be it Police, Journalism or Theatre, I find a connection in common and all have a common purpose for the betterment of society,” he said.
In a boost to aspiring journalists and students who had participated in the workshop, many senior journalists of the valley including Reyaz Masroor and Basharat Masood participated in the workshop.
The workshop also witnessed the participation of many journalism students from different Universities of Kashmir.
Earlier, Kashmir Press Club had organized workshops on Data Journalism in collaboration with Data Leads and Google News Initiative (India Training Network) and Newspaper reporting and Mojo Journalism—(KNO)
